MiniScheduler — from one shop’s chaos to a product for the floor

Started as a custom build for one operator drowning in weekly spreadsheets. It worked — so we spun it into a live standalone product for teams with the same scheduling bottleneck. TakeFlyte still does what we did on day one: kill whatever time suck isn't a SKU yet.

Step 01 · Excel chaos

Sunday-night spreadsheets, coverage holes, texts about who closes — hours gone before Monday opens.

The problem

A multi-employee operator came to us losing hours every week to the schedule. Every week started the same way: a sprawling Excel file, late-night edits, coverage gaps, and “who’s closing Thursday?” texts that never ended. They’d tried big enterprise scheduling tools and felt buried in features that didn’t match how their floor actually ran — drowning in software that was supposed to help.

What we did

We didn’t force another generic product on them. We mapped their process — roles, open/close coverage, breaks, last-minute swaps — and built MiniScheduler: generate a full week with real constraints, manager and employee views, time-off, and a shift marketplace for trades. The outcome

That custom build is now MiniScheduler— a live product shops can run for staff scheduling with real floor rules. Proof that encoding a real process works. When the bottleneck is industry-wide, we can productize it. When it isn't, TakeFlyte still maps your #1 time suckand ships the system that kills it — scheduling, calls, intake, follow-up, or something only your shop has. We won't force MiniScheduler where it doesn't fit.
